ANNOUNCEMENTS
ELMWOOD CEMETERY ASSOCIATION

The annual meeting of the Elmwood Cemetery Association, located in the Town of Caton, has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2020, 10 am, at the Caton Town Hall located at 11161 Hendy Hollow Road. Meeting is open to association members and the public.

NEW ELECTION LAWS - EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

POLL SITE: This year's elections will be held at the Caton Fire Hall, located at 1118 Caton Road, per Steuben County Board of Elections.

2020 Presidential Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020, at the Caton Fire Hall, 1118 Caton Road. Voting hours are from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. For more information go the the Steuben County website at: steubencounty.org.

FREE RABIES CLINIC

Caton Fire Hall, 1118 Caton Road, State Route 225, Friday, May 15, 2020 from 5 to 7 pm. Please bring proof of prior rabies vaccine record if available. For more information, call Town Clerk @ 524-6303. Donations are appreciated.

PANTRY OF ANGELS-NEW LOCATION

(new location at the old Brownies Store) Pantry of Angels 682 County Road 115, P O Box 60, Lindley NY 607-523-7250 A variety of free food is distributed every Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 pm to Lindley and Caton residents who are in need. Proof of residency is required at sign-up.

Caton Seniors:
 
Due to ongoing Coronavirus it has been necessary to cancel the following meetings:
 
April 14th  2020 -  Lunch meeting at the Central in Painted
May 12th 2020 -   Meeting at the Caton Methodist
June 9th 2020 - Meeting at the Caton Park
As normal there are no meetings in July or August.
 
We hope that things will be back to near normal by September and we can have our
September 8th meeting.

CATON TAXPAYERS:

Collection of the 2020 Town of Caton taxes has been extended to April 30th. The amount due will be the same as the March 31st amount due with no additional penalty. Taxes will be returned to the Steuben County Finance Department in Bath after April 30th.

You may use your Credit/Debit card and E-check to pay your taxes online or in person at the Town Clerk's Office (full payment only).  Use the link above.  You can view and print and pay your bill!

Need a copy of an older bill? You can go back as far as 2007 and view and print them too.

You may also use your card to pay for dog licenses, hunting licenses, marriage licenses, landfill tickets, building permits & for any purchase made in the Town Clerk's Office. 

E-check surcharge is $2.50. Credit card surcharge for any item purchased up to $64 is $1.75 added to the card. Credit card surcharge for any item purchased over $64 is 2.75% added to the card. As always, you can still pay in person by check or in cash with no service fee.

The Town of Caton,New York- requests quotations from contractors to provide mowing and trim work at Margaret Smyers Memorial, Caton Town Park for the period of May 1st through October 31st 2020.

This position reports to the town supervisor and town board.

Proof of injury liability will the responsibility of the contractor in the amount of

Basic Duties:

  • Maintain grass height of approximately 3 inches.
  • Trim or remove trees and bushes to maintain safe and attractive setting.
  • Trim grass on perimeter of fences, driveways and walks.
  • No use of chemical lawn and trim agents may be used.

Equipment use:

  • The contractor may use town owned mowing and weed trimming equipment.
    • Basic maintenance, cleaning, lubricating, sharpening is required.
    • Personal safety gear will be provided by the town.
